No, they should have kept the 4th campaign and they must keep GW2. A fresh start is good for video games. If we keep the same characters forever, it will just get more and more boring. I am already nearly sick of playing GW, and I have half of HM left to do still.

Also, GW1 will still be around, just not as many people will play. Servers open, people playing is up to them. There will be people like you who do not want to start over and therefore continue to play GW1 and probably never go to GW2.

Anyways, new info please. You asked for people to not bash on what you put, people hardly did, instead, they bash on you because this is a year old. Get your head out of your @$$ please. Also, spell opinion right, oppinion is annoying to read over and over, and only hurts your request for no "bashing on your oppinions".

How do you know this with such certainty? No one released any specs on GW2 and no one gave you anything but the vaguest of information on it.

It may very well be that your computer can still run GW2 (if not at the highest setting) and that you will really like it. Don't be so hasty to judge and wait for more concrete information to come out. Anet has said many times that none of the things listed in the article are set in stone and that things WILL change as they get further and further in the development process.

GW2 is at least a year away, its minimum specs are still unknown and Anet has repeatedly said that the GW1 servers will stay live. Migrating players also won't be a problem as you still have heroes/henchmen and a sizable population that say they will stay.

Add in that pcs get cheaper and cheaper each year, you just may end up owning a system that can play GW2. If not, go get a job and start saving up for one.

That said, welcome to last year.

I, for one, am furious that games coming out 10 years from now won't run perfectly on my current computer.

Too much speculation, GW2 will be nothing like WoW. I think you're thinking of LotrO

10 years? you're such a loser. everyone nowadays has Windows Plasmatron X, and Sextuplet-Core Multiprocessors.

you're such a geezer when it comes to technology.

I have no faith in Arena Net. Arena Net has become a money hungry company like all the rest. I was foolish to expect a company to actually be passionate about their game. NO COMPANY CARES ABOUT THEIR GAME! THEY ARE ALL IN IT FOR THE $!

Judging by how Arena Net has NERFED! NERFED! NERFED! NERFED! Changed their view on Skill > Time to Time > Skill. Killed PvE. Created vast imbalances I.E Ursan, My Invincible Imbagon Build, Etc. Arena Net killed HA. Arena Net DESTROYED EVERYTHING IN THIS GAME!

I don't even think Arena Net plays their own game... There is no way the designers could be this bad at their job....

I've said this once and I'll say it a million times more if I need to:

I don't care about GW2. Once it comes out, I'm going to sit for two months hearing, reading and pondering to myself what exactly GW2 is to me. Until then, it'll be locked tight in the back of my mind.

When you managed to create and maintain a game better then your opinion on this will matter as much as you think it does.

Or you could just play it and see if you enjoy it?

This coming from a person who is convinced ANet will introduce micro-transactions or a monthly fee for GW2 no matter what anyone else says to him.

Quote:
"World PvP is the solution for that problem." Strain said. "It acts as a bridge between the RPG world and the high-end PvP world." World PvP takes place in something called "The Mists." This is the nether region that exists between different world shards. In it, different worlds will be set against each other on a large battlefield that has a variety of objectives to attain. Large crews can attempt to seize gigantic castles while smaller group can work on protecting supply chains that feed giant catapults or capturing guard towers or defending important choke points. They key element, according to Strain is that nobody can be a detriment in World PvP.
Well it doesn't sound like world PVP to me, but like a zone (The Mist) where you can play various roles in pvp. I played WoW and i liked playing the world pvp style, as it was more fun and it always kept you in suspense of watching your surroundings, which was fun for me. I hope GW2 brings that aspect of you inmersing in an enemy territory knowing that someone may see you and kill you in MMORPG. Im not digging going to PvP in The Mist, since it doesnt sound that cool or realistically storywise.

I also agree PVP in GW1 has become very brutal and very highly skilled that it makes experiences for noobies like me, very disheartening and brutal. They should adapt more the common player.

Quote:
And the business model? "The same," Strain said. "No monthly fee and we'll be bringing out new content for purchase on a regular basis." He wouldn't elaborate further on exactly how that worked save to say that it probably wouldn't be the same 'Campaign' system they used for the original game.
The bolded part here again catches my attention as i currently dont buy stuff online. Of all the things GW has unleashed for the gamer to do i didnt bought the bonus mission pack, i hope this content cant be sold via a store as im very paranoid. Also im in Guild Wars because I HATE, i repeat I HATE I HATE I HATE paying for a game on a monthly fee, and moreso if i already bought the product. So im hopinh they release an anual new content that doesnt disperse the GuildWars population like it did in 1 and that the new content aint as expensive equaling a monthly fee of playing WoW cuzz ill be MAD.

Quote:
According to Flannum, one of the team's design goals is to structure the world differently. Rather than the very linear world of Guild Wars which was designed to tell a very big story, Guild Wars 2. will instead be persistent where the player will uncover pieces of the great story in what they're calling "story bubbles." The team likes to compare it to the Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms setting where players can participate in multiple story arcs rather than just one large one.
I believe this last aspect of storytelling is very nice, but i hope i dont get lost or skip a part of the story or get to the ending of the game without completely completing the story. I liked how they made GWEN story, and it seems its gonna be the same model that will be followed in GW2.

And last my only worry and constant rant on GW the LFG system:

Quote:
While Guild Wars 2 will contain a lot of instanced mission content, it will also sport a lot of shared landscape and will also be divided up into different servers filled with smaller groups of people in the manner of traditional MMOs.

Strain is quick to emphasize that that doesn't mean that players will be ghettoized into their own unique shards. "We're doing this to create more of a neighborhood feeling," Strain said. "But we also want people to be able to switch worlds easily and also interact with players from other worlds."
I liked the persistent world style of WoW and im hoping thats the idea. But it sounds like we will be able to port from one part of the map to another instantly. I want it to be able to walk it off and feel that the world is huge, or that im in a virtual world. Thats not the feel i get from GW1, and i hope GW2 brings that and have an efficient world wide LFG system for whatever stupid quest or mission or HM mission we want to do so we can pug much faster.

Much has changed since those early articles and interviews. This is a paraphrase from Arena Net.

I'm guessing that what they have planned will blow the top off the MMO industry. And this is why they are so "Hush Hush" about the tech and the system. Most likely it will incorporate the best of both GW1 and many other MMOs, but with an entirely "brand new" twist.
